Cox Castle's 1L Diversity Scholars Program is open to first-year students belonging to groups that have been historically underrepresented in the legal profession (such as members of racial or ethnic minority groups, veterans, differently abled students, LGBTQ+ students, and students from disadvantaged socioeconomic backgrounds). Applicants must be first-year J.D. students (with an anticipated graduation year of 2025) in good standing at an ABA-accredited law school. Successful candidates should have a record of academic achievement, leadership qualities, strong writing and interpersonal skills and a demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in real estate law in California after graduation. (Real estate law includes transactional commercial real estate, environmental, land use, and real estate litigation practices.)
Applications must be received by January 31, 2023. Please provide your resume, undergraduate and law school transcripts, a writing sample, and a personal statement. You may submit your resume, undergraduate transcript, writing sample, and personal statement for review in advance of your law school transcript, as we understand that grades may not be available until early 2023. Upon receipt of first-semester law school grades, please update your application when grades are received.
The anticipated 2023 summer associate compensation is $3,846 a week.
